A competitive conferences grant from the Food and Nutrition Society (PERGIZI PANGAN) of Indonesia and Indonesia Danone Institute Foundation (IDIF)  to be awarded to young scientist (researchers, lecturers or PhD students) in Food, Nutrition and Health diciplines who are invited for oral presentation at Southeast Asia Public Health Nutrition (SEA-PHN) Conference, 14-17 May 2017 in Kuala Lumpur or 10th Asia Pacific Conference on Clinical Nutrition (APCCN) conference, 26-26 November 2017 in Adelaide. PANDUAN HIBAH KOMPETITIF SEMINAR DAN LOMBA “TRANSLATING NUTRITION SCIENCES INTO PRACTICE” TEMA “Translating Nutrition Sciences into Practice”     LATAR BELAKANG Saat ini, Indonesia menghadapi masalah gizi ganda, kekurangan dan kelebihan gizi. Laporan Riskesdas 2013 mengungkap bahwa pada semua kelompok umur dan jenis kelamin di Indonesia terjadi masalah gizi kurang dan gizi lebih. Prevalensi anak balita Indonesia yang mengalami gizi kurang, pendek, dan gemuk berturut-turut adalah 19.6%, 37.2% dan 11.9%. Pada anak usia sekolah (5-12 tahun) prevalensi anak yang mengalami kurus, pendek dan gemuk berturut-turut adalah 11.2%, 30.7% dan 18.8%. Hasil Riskesdas (2013) menunjukkan 26.1% penduduk Indonesia tergolong aktivitas fisik kurang aktif. Selain itu juga  terdapat masalah kekurangan vitamin dan mineral, misalnya sekitar 37% ibu hamil, 28.1% anak balita dan 26.4% anak usia sekolah mengalami anemia. Laporan Survei Diet Total (SDT) 2015 menunjukan bahwa konsumsi sayur dan buah penduduk Indonesia juga masih sangat rendah yaitu berturut-turut 57,1 gram dan 33,5 gram per orang per hari.
