The Food and Nutrition Society of Indonesia (PERGIZI PANGAN Indonesia) and the Federation of Asian Nutrition Societies (FANS) are delighted to invite and welcome you to the Asian Congress of Nutrition (ACN). The ACN will be held on August 4-7 (Sunday to Wednesday), 2019 at Bali International Convention Centre in Bali – Indonesia, one of the most modern and best equipped place in Indonesia.
Bali, sometimes called the paradise island, according to BBC Travel, is the World’s Best Island in 2011 and 2012. Bali is recognized world-wide as an interesting destination by international visitors, because its beauty and unique scenery as well as unique culture. About 80% of international visitors who come to Indonesia visit Bali. Bali, through its history, has been open to variety of cultures, people and beliefs. The Airports of Ngurah Rai, Denpasar, Bali is easily accessed through regular flights from most metropolises in Asia and Australia as well as from other cities within Indonesia.
The theme of the ACN is “Nutrition and Food Innovation for Sustained Well-Being”. We believe that nutrition is central for sustainable development; and we also believe that there is no great nutrition improvement without great innovation and great leadership; and there is no great nutrition innovation without great researchers and great communication. Therefore, the goal of the congress is to promote nutrition and food innovation and to encourage scientific interchange among food, nutrition and health researchers and professionals in Asia and worldwide. The ACN can also be a place for young nutrition students and researchers to meet and discuss with great researchers and great leaders in the world of nutrition.
Nutrition and food scientists should take into consideration the interactions between food, health, the environment and socio-economic conditions. Both acute and chronic malnutrition reflect a failure in those interactions in the development process. It is proven that nutrition has high human and economic returns. So, efforts to improve community nutrition will contribute to progress in many areas of sustainable development.
The ACN program is comprised of symposia and workshops including invitational plenary sessions, special lectures and debates on the current problems, innovation and development of nutrition and food; as well as exhibition, field visit, social programs and cultural performances.
We hope the Congress will fortify the Asian and international network of researchers and professionals. I highly appreciate your attention and I hope to have the opportunity to welcome you in Bali, Indonesia.
